Three Swords

Three swords have pierced her heart and broken it. Many years will pass before her heart heals, but if those three swords are not destroyed forever, they will surely pierce through her heart and break it again.

The first sword is arrogance. She thought he would stay with her. She assumed he would never find anyone as good as her. She didn't realize that the world is filled with numerous women who are at least as attractive as she is. She didn't know that, unlike her, many of them are kind and compassionate too. They have beautiful souls. They are more than just a pretty face.

The second sword is laziness. A relationship is a dance, and it takes two to tango. She assumed he would do all the work because he was in love with her. She never made an effort to identify the imbalances in their relationship and rectify them. She never made an effort to understand him so she could connect with him. She never made an effort to understand herself in order to learn the ways she was inflicting suffering upon him.

The third sword is dishonesty. She hid things for the purpose of manipulating him. She lied to him for the purpose of taking advantage of him. She was never forthright about what she wanted. She was never candid.

Her own heart knows what must be done for the swords to be removed from it. Will she learn to listen to its voice?

    1. I really like Renata Lechner's Thelema Tarot. It speaks to me and I've gotten good results with it. A lot of the imagery in the deck is beautiful, and I'm always finding clever symbolic connections between the different cards. For example, there is a flower in the Fool card, and the same flower is in the Sun card, so it makes you think about the hidden relationship between those two cards.
