Three Tips for Using Magic to Help the Planet

Those of you who have been keeping up with the news lately are aware that humanity is facing a number of environmental crises. There has been a lot of talk about helping the environment, and I suspect that in light of these discussions, many aspiring magicians are also beginning to think about the subject of using magic to help the planet. In this article, I want to give aspiring magicians three tips regarding the subject of using magic to help the planet. Tip 1: Focus on your training. Keep in mind that you will be able to do a lot more to help the planet using magic if you are a magician than if you aren't. A magician is someone who has successfully worked through a good magical training system like IIH, rather than just anyone who dabbles in occult subjects. What many Bardonists forget is that there is a difference between trying to do something and actually doing it. I see a lot of aspiring magicians trying to use magic to help the planet. Are any of them actually using mag

Let's Have Some Fun!

My readers form a unique subset of Bardonists; after all, they have the ability to not just tolerate my wackiness but appreciate it as well. With that being said, let's have some fun! Have you sought out and collected together the six Infinity Stones? They are: The Space Stone = being organized The Time Stone = having good time-management skills The Soul Stone = compassion The Mind Stone = the ability to focus The Power Stone = self-discipline The Reality Stone = the ability to see things as they are and avoid deluding yourself It's important to have all six stones because each of them will be provide you with great assistance as you walk the magical path. Happy searching! Be kind.

Three Tips for Preparing for Your Early Morning Practice Sessions

Many Bardonists practice the exercises of IIH early in the morning. This is often a good time to practice. Your mind is usually freshest early in the morning. The streets are quiet, so if you live in the city, you don't have to put up with the sound of traffic. Also, the astra-mental atmosphere tends to be clearest during the early morning, because during night, everyone is sleeping and therefore not producing as many negative thoughtforms by thinking hateful, envious, or judgemental thoughts. What some Bardonists don't realize, however, is that if you want to have a good practice session early in the morning, you should begin preparing the night before. In fact, if your evening goes badly, this can have a negative impact on your practice session the next morning. This isn't always the case, but it often is. For this reason, I want to give you three tips regarding how to prepare for your early morning practice session the night before. Tip 1: Make Wise Choices Regarding

An Urgent Request for My Readers

I have an urgent request for my readers, and it is as follows. Please do not blindly believe everything I write! Imagine if someone you highly respected gave you an extremely valuable and useful gift. Would you throw it away? No, you would cherish it and use it. Divine Providence has given you an extremely valuable and useful gift, and this is your capacity to engage in critical thinking. Use this capacity to analyze everything I write before believing it. If you blindly believe everything I write, it is like you're throwing away your capacity for critical thinking. Seriously, you have no idea who I am. I could be the greatest adept in the world. I could be some kid in middle school who doesn't even believe in magic but is just trying to make money off of the gullible people who believe in  magic by writing and selling books on the subject. Is that the sort of person whose statements you should blindly believe? Thinking requires some effort, but I assure you that being la

As Without, so Within

You've probably all heard the saying "As above, so below; as below, so above." There are several variations of this saying. One of the more interesting ones for me is "As within, so without; as without, so within." This is true in multiple ways. If you want to get a sense of its meaning through experience, try the following exercise. De-clutter your room, and if possible, your house. Also, if you are able to, de-clutter your office and any other environment you are in for significant portions of your day. Then, practice thought-observation and compare how cluttered your mind is with how cluttered your mind used to be before you de-cluttered your environment. There's a good chance you'll find that when you spend lots of time in a cluttered environment, your mind will also be more cluttered; and, when you de-clutter your environment, your mind will become de-cluttered as well. When a society is possessed by a consumer culture, the society's group m

Arrogance is a Poison

We all know that the presence of arrogance in someone's personality is a glaring indication that said person is not very far along the magical path. The purpose of this post isn't to state that this is the case, but to shed some light on why this is the case. The simple reason is that how far along the magical path you are depends largely on how balanced you are, and arrogance is a major imbalance. There are other ways of looking at the issue though. Bardon tells us that four qualities are needed for success in magic - knowledge, courage, volition, and silence. He calls these the four pillars of Solomon's temple, which represents the fully developed and realized magician. Arrogance is a sign that a person lacks at least two of those qualities - knowledge and courage. An arrogant person does not know his shortcomings, flaws, vices, and negative traits. Furthermore, an arrogant person does not have the courage to analyze himself, because somewhere in the back of his mind

On Whether to Buy the Second Edition of TSOM

If you follow Tanya on Facebook, you've probably learned by now that the second edition of The Spirit of Magic: Rediscovering the Heart of Our Sacred Art (TSOM) is coming out soon. The first edition was published under a Createspace ISBN, which limits our options when it comes to distributing copies. Creating a second edition gives us the opportunity to publish under a Falcon Books Publishing ISBN, which gives us greater freedom in a variety of ways, including exploring multiple formats and offering discounts on special occasions. With that said, the second edition does differ from the first edition in more than just its ISBN number. From what I've heard, a number of people are having trouble deciding whether to buy the second edition if they already have the first edition. In this blog post, I want to give my thoughts on the matter. First off, when trying to decide whether to buy any book, the first thing to realize is that unless the book is IIH, you don't need it. Som
